Training Programs. She also instructs in J-3 and many other General Aviation aircraft. Because of
her efforts and abilities, Janeen was recently selected as Flight Instructor of the Year for the Orlando
Flight Standards District Office.

senior pilots. The award is named for Orville & Wilbur Wright, and recognizes a lifetime of safe

requirements. The Wright brothers first flew their frail craft, the Flyer, on December 17, 1903
at Kitty Hawk, NC. The Wright Brothers Master Pilot award ceremony at the FAA Production
Studios at the FAASTeam NRC in Lakeland, Florida marks the 104th anniversary of that
monumental event. Each recipient will be presented a certificate signed by FAA Administrator
Marion Blakey, and a special lapel pin identifying their special achievement. Additionally, each
will have his or her name inscribed in the Roll of Honor at the FAA headquarters in Washington, DC.

The Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award is a new, nationally sanctioned FAA award for active senior pilots.
The award is named for Orville & Wilbur Wright, and recognizes a lifetime of safe flying for pilots who have
been active for at least 50 years and who also meet strict eligibility requirements. The Wright brothers first flew
their frail craft, the Flyer, on December 17, 1903 at Kitty Hawk, NC. The Wright Brothers Master Pilot award
ceremony at the FAA Production Studios at the FAASTeam NRC in Lakeland, Florida marks the 105th anniversary
of that monumental event. Each recipient will be presented a certificate signed by FAA Administrator Bobby
Sturgell and a special lapel pin identifying their special achievement. Additionally, each will have his or her
name inscribed in the Roll of Honor at the FAA headquarters in Washington, DC.

performed an emergency landing on Hudson on January 15, 2009. Jeff talks about the experience,
appropriately deemed "Miracle on the Hudson", and gives us a view from the cockpit allowing us to see
how experience and training played a major role in the safety outcome of this emergency ditching and
evacuation.
 
Next up we will bring you Wes Timmons, Director of the Office of Runway Safety with his program
